Hand Talk was one of 20 organizations selected to receive a shared contribution of 25 million dollars from Google.org , through the Google AI Challenge program . In addition to the investment, organizations will also receive mentoring and assistance from Google's AI (artificial intelligence) professionals. In total, more than 2600 organizations signed up!
The Google AI Challenge is a program that invests in social organizations, research institutes and social impact businesses, aiming to use artificial intelligence to serve humanitarian causes or those related to the environment. Therefore, we are very happy to have been selected and to be the only representative from Brazil within this team of organizations with such important purposes!
Over five days, all 20 organizations will join AI professionals cell phone number list from Google as well as startup experts from the Google Launchpad Accelerator in San Francisco, California. The program will run from May to November 2019.
Hand Talk will receive an amount of 750 thousand dollars, approximately 3 million reais. In addition to investing in improving the quality of the Plugin and Application translations , the objective is to start a service that has been planned for some time: the translation from English to ASL (American Sign Language). In other words, the plan now is to take Hugo to foreign lands!
With this new investment, we will be able to focus on our objectives, and pursue with even greater strength the purpose that has always driven us: bringing accessibility to the deaf community and breaking the barrier between deaf and hearing people around the world.
